Index - Basic Guide - edinn® M2´s main window
edinn® M2´s main window shows the most important information and allows you to access the rest of the work and configuration windows.
The first thing you will see in this window are the production lines, in the form of boxes or a graphic, which are available in the system. If you click on the box of a line, the list of
processes within this line will be shown, in boxes or in a graphic.
The color of the boxes (which is the same as where the title of the machine, the button *, the
drop-down selector of the processes and the OUT button are shown) gives you valuable information.
This information depends on the type of visualization selected in the lower left corner of the window.

If the failure prediction module (edinn® Envision) is activated by your administrator, the system will predict, based on the historic information, the following stop, and will alert the operator so he can avoid this stop. In the image shown above, the predicted stop is shown in yellow and with the < ! > symbol.
ATTENTION: edinn® M2´s
failure prediction module is using high technologies, combining technical statistics and neural networks. A rate of success of more than 90% has been demonstrated. However, this module can only predict stops when the situation is corresponding to a similar situation in the past. The
predicted stop can never be guaranteed with absolute certainty because it is a future prediction.
The following will be shown on the display:
The buttons on the left allow us to operate the system. When we click without selecting a process, a window will force us to select one. Therefore, you should have selected a process in the main window, before clicking on the buttons on the left. These buttons allow you to:

The upper left part of the window allows you to visualize the user that started the session ( clicking on this button allows you to close the actual session), the date and time and the name of the company. On the right part the following symbols can be shown:
The user has unread messages. By clicking on this symbol you can read the message.
The terminal is connected and synchronized with the Central. Operating off-line.
edinn®M2 is receiving or transmitting messages. Operating off-line.
edinn®M2 wants to send messages, the symbol will
flicker. By clicking on it, communication with the server will be established. Operating off-line.
Around these last three icons, a blue square is shown when the terminal is connected on-line with the central data base.
When we see the detailed information of a process, in the upper part the following is shown:
![]()
The asterisk(*) on the left is shown when there is any additional documentation about the process. By clicking on the * a window will be shown where we can click on the document we want to see. This is
useful because we can show documents that are related to processes.
The IN/OUT button only appears when, by configuration, we are allowed to manually indicate when we are producing and we have stopped to produce. This information will be validated the system.
The IN button allows us to indicate the system that we are going to work with this process. If we are already working in this process, OUT will be shown. By clicking on OUT, we indicate the system that we are not working with this process anymore. You can configure the number of operators that are allowed to work with each process on each moment. If we try to log on (IN) to a process that does not allow more operators, the system will indicate this.
